3 cups gram flour (besan)
3/4 cup rice flour
1/2 tsp turmeric
1.5 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp black pepper (or more to taste)
2 tsp kosher salt
1 tbs. coarsely ground coriander seeds
1.5 cups of water (or more to make it slightly wetter than pancake batter)
2 tbsp hot oil
Daring Original Plant Chicken
1 medium potato
1 large taro
1 large white onion
1 large zucchini
Thaw Daring Original Pieces in the refrigerator over night.
Slice the vegetables you will be frying.
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry batter ingredients. Then, add the water and hot oil into the same mixing bowl.
Stir batter until it is slightly wetter than pancake batter.
Dip your Daring pieces and sliced veggies in the batter.
Test that your frying oil is ready by dropping a small portion of batter. If it sizzles and rises to the top of the oil, your frying oil is ready.
Place your batter-dipped Daring pieces and sliced veggies into the frying pan and fry for about 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown.
Drain the fried pakoras on a paper towel or baking rack before serving.
Enjoy!
